Everything starts with a single, strong idea...

Hello, I'm Kornel, originally an opera singer in the Czech Republic with a strong gravitation for every kind of expressive form of art. I started my journey a few years ago, beside working as a full time opera singer, with sewing... but I wasn't really satisfied with the available fabric pattern options, what I could put my hands on. So behold, the Idea borned, I will make surface pattern design, and in that field, especially, fabric design... so I sarted research this field and slowly but surely I realised, I don't have the technical skills to create those drawings, what I actually saw with my imagination.... So... let's make another sideway, let's start to learn drawing!

I always attracted to watercolour paintings, dip pen techniques and mixed media shenanigans so those really heavily influenced the direction where I was heading and I slowly realised, although I'm still interested in surface pattern design, drawing and painting gives me something really special and a really private-public way to express myself... slowly my works cought the attention of other people and so I decided, although I'm still an apprentice, I will sell and spread my artworks and the joy with them what I feel, through the creation of these pieces.

I always amused, when people tell their own stories, looking at my works, what they're seeing in them... always a bit, or a lot different, that I anytime would come up with!

So... that's how KornelMDesign came into existence...

I hope, my works will give you at least the some amount of joy what I have with them and that they will smuggle a bit spark and happines in your everydays!
